Hooper Corp. in Wisconsin has acquired Premier Energy Services, though financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed.
Hooper is an electric power and mechanical contractor based in Madison. Steve Lindley, vice president of operations at Hooper, says the company will expand its capabilities to include natural gas distribution work as a result of the acquisition.
Hooper says John Stenger will remain as president of Premier, which employs nearly 130. FMI Capital Advisors Inc., which advised Hooper for the acquisition, tells Inside INdiana Business the deal should be a positive for hiring, though specific details were not given.
"Hooper anticipates Premier to drive growth for the company and will be investing in the people and infrastructure to leverage the increasing demand for natural gas distribution services," Hooper said in a news release. "Many energy delivery utilities offer both electric and natural gas services, so the acquisition now positions Hooper as a stronger, evolving, more integrated and diversified service provider to these utilities."
Premier, which was founded in 2002, operates primarily in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, and has an additional office in Fairborn, Ohio.
