The 161,000-square-foot warehouse in Whitestown offers cold storage space with temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius, or about -4 degrees Fahrenheit.
“This new warehouse is going to open opportunities to life science businesses with direct access to the Midwest and beyond,” said Langham Logistics President and Chief Executive Officer Cathy Langham. “We’re excited and honored to celebrate with state leaders, our clients, and our team.”
In an interview last December with Business of Health reporter Kylie Veleta, Langham says the facility was planned before the global pandemic, but the response needed for COVID-19 accelerated the timeline.
The company says the space has two backup power generator systems and cutting-edge automation. The company says it will be able to offer FDA-approved, raw material storage and clinical trial kitting and distribution with thermal protective packaging options.
Langham says the cold storage warehouse will be positioned to enable delivery of medicines anywhere in the U.S. in under 24 hours.
