The Warsaw-based company announced his appointment this week. Findlay, who will retain his current role as CEO, follows Michael Kubacki, who has served as chair since 2003.
Kubacki will continue as a member of the board until his retirement next April.
In a Lake City Bank news release, Findlay credited Kubacki for overseeing a period of transformational growth during his 21 years as board chairman. Lake City Bank operates 53 branch offices across northern and central Indiana, and is the seventh largest bank headquartered in the state.
“I first began working with Mike in 1985 when we were at Northern Trust together and our wonderful relationship is approaching four decades,” Findlay said. “He’s been an exceptional mentor for me and I’ll miss his presence in the board room.”
The bank also announced its appointment of Blake Augsburger as lead independent director. Augsburger has belonged to the Lake City Bank board since 2011.
“We are very pleased that this long-planned transition has been seamlessly completed as we approach Mike’s retirement from the board,” Augsburger said in the news release. “On behalf of the entire board, we thank Mike for his amazing service to this organization and our shareholders.”
