Bennett Boehning & Clary has been a part of the Lafayette community since it was founded in 1948. The Greater Lafayette Commerce gave the firm the business of the year award because of its business and contributions to the community.
“We all feel it’s our obligation to be active in the community,” Co-owner Stuart Boehning said after winning the business of the month award in August. “The other aspect is the business aspect. We give back to the community, we receive in return. You do good things, good things come back.”
The firm won the August 2015 Small Business of the Month award, which qualified it for the business of the year competition.
The organization says to be nominated for a small business award, the business must be privately owned, in business under current ownership for at least three years, a Greater Lafayette Commerce member, staffed by 50 or fewer employees and involved in the community.
