A central Indiana chapter of Laborers International Union of North America says there are jobs to be had right now helping to build highways, hospitals, and hotels and it expects even more in the months ahead.
Our partners at WISH-TV report LiUNA Local 120 is looking to fill about 100 union positions by the end of the year.
Local 120 represents laborers in Marion and Shelby counties. It represents many of the workers who are currently building a waste-water runnel under the city of Indianapolis.
Business Manager Ward Daniels said in addition to current full-time jobs, there is an opportunity for an apprenticeship program.
Daniels said looking ahead to planned projects in 2021, he’s anticipating a shortage of help. He said Local 120 is going to need to hire between 200 and 300 new employees after the first of the year.
