Ivy Tech Community College-Elkhart County has named its next executive director. Kyle Hannon, who previously served as chief executive officer of the Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce, will begin his new role January 8. In addition to his position with the chamber, Hannon was previously elected to the Elkhart City Council and was appointed to the Indiana Bicycle Trails Task Force by Governor Eric Holcomb.

Hannon holds degrees from Ball State University and Indiana University South Bend, as well as certificates from the University of Notre Dame and IUPUI. "I have always enjoyed and appreciated working with the dedicated Ivy Tech team in Northern Indiana. It is an honor to be able to help Ivy Tech continue to shape the educational and training landscape in my community," he said.

Hannon spent 15 years with the Greater Elkhart Chamber, including five as president and CEO. He was vice president of public policy and media relations for a decade. Recently, Hannon worked with Elkhart Mayor Tim Neese on creating the Launch Elkhart business incubator. He also helped establish the Diversity Business Initiative for Latino entrepreneurs.
