Kroger Subsidiary to Reopen in Muncie

Seymour-based Ruler Foods will this month celebrate the grand reopening of its location in Muncie. The grocery chain, a subsidiary of The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR), has invested more than $740,000 to completely remodel and update the store, which it says will better reflect customer needs.
Ruler Foods says the more than 16,000-square-foot store will feature a fresh interior with a new look and layout, as well as expanded fresh produce and meat departments. The store, located at 3500 North Morrison Road, will officially open its doors October 18.
"We are dedicated to supporting the Muncie community through our partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana and serving our customers every day with fresh produce and meat, and quality Kroger products at the best prices," said Liz Ferneding, president of Ruler Foods. "The updated store will feature an expanded fresh selection, including organic produce, and a modern shopping experience while still maintaining the everyday low prices our customers love."
Ruler Foods has 50 locations in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, and Tennessee. The company will celebrate the grand reopening of the Muncie store with giveaways, in-store samples and surprises during the first weekend of operation.
