Since 1993, the store sold hockey apparel year-round, as well as hockey and skating equipment. It also offered equipment repair.
"We want to thank everyone for your support of our hockey pro shop over the past 23 years," said Bill Franke. "Due to changing habits of consumers over the past few years, we feel that now is the time to make this decision."
A specific closure date was not announced. The store is holding a liquidation sale before officially closing its doors.
The store said it is possible a seasonal store could pop up during holidays and parts of the Komets’ season but there are "lots of things up in the air."
