The city says Marble the Steakhouse, an upscale chophouse-style restaurant, will open later this summer.
The restaurant was created by Chef Blake Kinder, who also owns the Cook McDoogal’s restaurant in downtown Kokomo. He says his new restaurant will take advantage of its proximity to Tin Man Brewing Co., which is also located in the train depot, as well as nearby Industrial Heritage Trail.
"We hope to offer a unique experience at Marble in a tremendous setting," said Kinder. "The train depot is a beautiful part of downtown. Kokomo enjoys and appreciates fine dining. Our concept will fit perfectly with the location and the look."
Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight says the restaurant "blends perfectly" with the area. The renovation of the Historic Train Depot was completed earlier this year.
