Kokomo's Inventrek Technology Park is celebrating 10 years in operation. The incubator says its main goal over the past decade has been to “capture intellectual capital” and keep it in the city. Organizers say the park has been home to nearly 50 high-tech businesses since 2004 and has helped create hundreds of jobs. The center offers services ranging from helping entrepreneurs develop business plans to connecting businesses with venture capitalists and strategic alliance opportunities.

Kokomo, Ind. — Inventrek Technology Park opened its doors 10 years ago as a “Technology Driven” Business Incubator in January 2004.

The need for a high-tech incubator was realized by a few forward thinking visionaries in the community. Their vision was to capture the intellectual capital that may have been lost, due to economic conditions, to remain in Kokomo, IN. While it succeeded and produced several businesses from that talent pool, Inventrek has been home to nearly 50 businesses over the last 10 years. The focus to create economic diversification through innovation and entrepreneurship was successful. Inventrek has been credited for the creation of hundreds of jobs in the community. Inventrek is an Indiana Certified Technology Park.

The Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance announces the Inventrek 10 Years Anniversary Celebration to be held on Thursday, October 2nd, 2014 at the Inventrek Technology Park located at 700 East Firmin Street, Kokomo, Indiana. There is a scheduled program beginning at 3:15 pm with an Open House to follow from 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm.
