A pediatrics health care provider in Kokomo has completed its transition from Community Health Network to the Jane Pauley Community Health Center.
Kokomo Pediatrics officially opened Jan. 13, the center said this week. Formerly called the North Central Indiana Pediatric Center, it was among seven practices announced last year to shift from Community Health to the Indianapolis-based nonprofit, which as a Federally Qualified Health Center provides services to underserved communities.
“We are thrilled to bring our services to the Kokomo community,” CEO Marc Hackett said in a news release. “By managing this trusted pediatric practice, we are not only expanding our reach but also continuing our commitment to making healthcare more affordable and accessible for families. Our goal is to provide top-tier care to children and their families, ensuring they can live healthy lives without worrying about the costs.”
The location, 3611 S. Reed Road, provides checkups, vaccinations, sick visits, preventive care and behavioral health services. It also offers financial assistance so families with limited insurance options or low incomes can receive care, the news release said.
“We believe every child deserves access to the best possible healthcare, regardless of their family’s financial situation,” Hackett said. “This expansion is just the beginning of our effort to ensure that families in Kokomo have the resources and support they need to thrive.”
The practice’s transition to the Jane Pauley Community Health Center was announced in January 2024 along with six other practices in central Indiana operated by Community Health Network, Inside INdiana Business reported.
Community Health Network leaders said the shift would help those practices better serve their communities. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Jane Pauley Community Health Center has access to additional financial resources and support to reach people who historically have had trouble connecting with health and social services.
The Jane Pauley Community Health Center was founded in 2009 with support from Community Health Network. Once the seven transitions are complete, the Jane Pauley Community Health Center will have 17 locations in and around central Indiana.
