Kimura Foundry America acquires Shelbyville company

Shelbyville-based Kimura Foundry America is adding to its portfolio with the acquisition of precision tooling and CNC machining company VIP Tooling, also based in Shelbyville.
Financial terms of the acquisition are not being disclosed.
Kimura Foundry, which was established in Shelbyville in 2018, manufactures prototype casting for a variety of industries, including automotive, agricultural, and gas and oil.
The company said in a news release that the acquisition will create faster lead times, tighter process control and cost efficiencies for customers.
“The addition of VIP Tooling to the Kimura family allows us to offer a truly all-in-one manufacturing service,” Kimura Foundry President Michiya Kajiwara said in the release. “By combining our cutting-edge 3D-printed casting technologies with VIP’s precision machining capabilities, we’re simplifying the supply chain for our customers, improving lead times, and accelerating innovation across U.S. manufacturing.”
Kimura said both companies will continue to operate from their respective facilities. Chief Marketing Officer Mike Newell declined to say how many employees each company has in an email to Inside INdiana Business but noted that the acquisition will not have any impact on jobs.
“We’re excited to join forces with a company that shares our focus on innovation, craftsmanship, and customer success,” VIP Tooling Chief Operating Officer Paul Nolting said in the release. “This partnership strengthens our ability to serve existing clients while opening the door to new opportunities in advanced manufacturing.”
Kimura Foundry America is a subsidiary of Japan-based casting manufacturer Kimura Group.
