Ohio-based KeyBank has selected Seth Keirns as market president in northern Indiana, based in South Bend. Keirns, who will also serve as commercial banking leader in northern Indiana, most recently served as the bank’s market president in Fort Wayne.

Keirns joined KeyBank in Fort Wayne last December. Prior to that, he served as an executive director of middle market banking for JPMorgan Chase in Fort Wayne.

“Seth’s reputation and deep connections in Northern Indiana will be an important asset for our bankers and colleagues, positioning us for continued growth and community engagement,” Julie Overton, commercial banking leader in Indiana for KeyBank, said in a news release. “We are thrilled to expand his title from Fort Wayne Market President to Northern Indiana Market President and are excited about the work he will do to enhance KeyBank’s already strong position in the region.”

During his nearly 20-year career, Keirns has also worked for Tower Bank & Trust Co. in Fort Wayne and Ohio-based First Financial Bank’s Fort Wayne office. He also served as a CPA for Ernst & Young before moving to the banking industry.

Keirns earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business and is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.

KeyBank has nearly 18,000 employees across its entire footprint and operates 35 bank branches in Indiana.
