Two planning agencies in Indiana and Illinois are set for meetings that could affect the proposed Illiana Corridor. Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report a committee within the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning is expected to vote on the expressway this morning and the Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission is expecting to hold public meetings later this month on the proposed road. Each agency must sign off on the project for it to move forward and receive federal funding.

The 47-mile toll road would reach from I-65 near Lowell to I-55 near Wilmington, Illinois.

As early as December, the full NIRPC could take a pass-or-fail vote on the Illiana Corridor.
