The national anthem before this year’s Indianapolis 500 will be performed by Grammy Award-winner Kelly Clarkson. The inaugural season winner of "American Idol" last performed the anthem at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2011 along with Seal and David Foster.
In addition to three GRAMMYs, Four American Music Awards and two Academy of Country Music Awards, Clarkson has placed more than 100 number one singles on all Billboard charts. Her album sales have topped 25 million and she has sold more than 36 million singles.
IMS President Doug Boles says "we’re thrilled to welcome Kelly back to IMS on Race Day to sing the national anthem for hundreds of thousands of fans in the stands and millions of viewers around the world. She is an incredible live performer with a wonderful and instantly recognizable voice. We look forward to her rendition of the national anthem during one of the most poignant moments of this iconic global sporting spectacle."
The 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 will be May 27. You can connect to more by clicking here.
