The organization says it will launch “My Career Journey” to middle and high school students and for those interested in volunteering remotely.
Mentors taking part in the program share a ten-minute video discussing their career journey and how they got where they are today. Students complete JA coursework and assessments that introduce them to industries that best suit their skills and interests. Students have the opportunity to “e-meet” volunteers through the submitted videos to learn more about specific careers.
“We’re proud to offer this meaningful opportunity for our volunteers to continue inspiring students and keep them future-focused during social distancing. We’re very excited about the potential for young people in central Indiana to benefit,” said Jennifer Burk, president and chief executive officer of Junior Achievement of Central Indiana.
JA partners with more than 200 schools in 35 districts to deliver educational programs that reach nearly 40,000 students. The organization says more than 4,600 adults volunteer annually.
