The Indiana State Medical Association has elected John McGoff president for 2017-2018. He is a member of the Community Health Network medical staff and previously served as speaker of the House of Delegates, which is the policy-making body of the ISMA. McGoff is a retired brigadier general with the Indiana Air National Guard and served as Marion County Coroner for seven years. After being elected, he outlined the priorities he wishes to address as president, which include clear communication.

The other priorities include attracting and engaging new members, physician leadership and improving the ISMA’s relationships with key stakeholders. McGoff has also served on the ISMA Board of Trustees, was the president of the Indianapolis Medical Society and served on the Indiana Medical Licensing Board.
