"Our decision to open this new blasting and painting operation in East Chicago, IN, was in direct response to the needs of our clients. And we’re already seeing indications of future growth, both here and around the country," Regional Coating Operations Manager, Mike Wiltermood said.
Brand Energy says the 24,000-square-foot building has state-of-the-art abrasive blasting technology that "utilizes recycled steel grit to reduce costs and boost efficiency." It also has a custom painting booth with a specialized ventilation system.
"East Chicago is gaining a great amount of traction lately, with companies like Brand Energy deciding to expand their operations here. We’ve got a lot to offer these businesses, and many facilitative options that they’re seeking – such as cranes, space, and high ceilings to fit their industrial needs. Coming up in the next few weeks you’ll hear announcements about even more businesses coming this way," East Chicago Mayor Anthony Copeland said.
"The expansion of an existing company in East Chicago is creating opportunity for citizens to access great jobs and great wages, which are then incorporated into the fabric of Lake County. It’s definitely something to celebrate," Lake County Economic Alliance President, Karen Lauerman said.
