Governor Eric Holcomb will Friday join local officials to celebrate plans by Germany-based Saturn Petcare to establish its first U.S. facility in Vigo County. The event in Terre Haute will also include details about new jobs expected to be created by the pet food manufacturer.

Last March, Saturn Petcare announced plans to set up operations at the former Kellogg’s facility in Seelyville and create more than 200 jobs. However, those plans were scrapped a few months later after Saturn and Kellogg’s could not come to terms on a purchase agreement for the facility.

Our partners at WTHI-TV reported at the time Saturn Petcare had decided to set up shop at the former Pfizer building in the southern portion of the county. The company in November submitted a bid to the Vigo County Redevelopment Commission to purchase the property.
