Officials in LaPorte County will Thursday host the fourth annual Michigan City Community Job Fair. More than 60 employers, universities, training providers, skilled trades and community organizations will be on hand to discuss job opportunities and career paths.

The job fair will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Stardust Room at Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City. The event is free and open to the public. Job seekers are encouraged to dress professionally, bring multiple copies of their resume, and be prepared for on-site interviews.

The companies and organizations attending the job fair represent a variety of industries, including healthcare, professional services, hospitality, manufacturing, retail, transportation, distribution and logistics. Organizers say the available jobs range from entry-level to more experienced positions.

The event is being held by the city of Michigan City, Economic Development Corp. Michigan City, the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce, the Northwest Indiana Workforce Board, WorkOne and Blue Chip Casino.
