With its latest investment, the firm says the 25,000-square-foot Jeffersonville Tech Center is now operating with 100% solar power.
Taxspeaker’s Vice President and Sherwood Investments’ President Ryan Jennings says the installation is part of its energy independence efforts.
“This step forward in energy technology parallels our technological advancements in webcast training,” said Jennings.
The company says the installation leverages Indiana’s net metering system, generating 100% of the building’s electricity needs and selling excess energy production back into the Duke Energy electric grid.
Taxspeaker, which is the Tech Center’s primary occupant, operates four video production studios for webinars and video recording, training facilities, and fulfillment centers for income tax experts.
Jennings says Taxspeaker is investing in the future of training for the internet. The Tech Center is utilizing 1 GB fiber optic line to annually provide television-quality video webinars, reaching over 25,000 independent tax professionals in the United States.
The company says the installation frees up resources to research technological applications and plans to continue to lead innovation in the educational consulting field.
