The company intends to pump $2.4 million into improvements and equipment at a leased facility on the River Ridge Commerce Center campus in Jeffersonville. UCB says renovations have already begun on the 55,000 square-foot call center, which is slated to open by the end of next month.
The company has operations in Ohio, Florida and Costa Rica and it expects to complete the first round of hiring — some 300 employees — by year’s end in order to meet increasing demand for its outsourcing services for clients in government, healthcare, utility, financial services, communications and student loan industries.
Chief Operating Officer Michael Karosas says "we are very excited to be establishing our presence in the state of Indiana. Indiana’s pro-business environment and skilled workforce distinguished itself from other locations we were considering, and we look forward to a bright future here in Indiana."
UCB has been offered tax credits and training grants through the Indiana Economic Development Corp. totaling up to $3.65 million. You can connect to more about the expansion plans by clicking here.
