Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business has named Jeff Fettig its Poling Chair of Business and Government. Fettig is chairman of the board of Whirlpool Corp. and non-employee executive chairman of DowDuPont Inc.
Fettig will serve as a leader-in-residence and visit the Kelley School in Bloomington and Indianapolis during the fall and spring semesters to work with students and faculty members. He’ll help lead discussions in areas including leadership, economic growth and connections between private business and government in public policy.
Fettig earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Kelley School in 1979, followed by a Master of Business Administration. He stepped down as Whirlpool chief executive officer last year after leading the company for 13 years. He joined the company in 1981 as an operations associate.
Kelley School alumnus and former Ford Motor Co. CEO Harold "Red Poling" established the Poling Chair in 1993. Previous chairs include astronaut and entrepreneur Mae Jemison, former U.S. Senator Evan Bah and former Mattel Inc. CEO Bob Eckert.
