Johnson County Development Searching For New CEO

The president and chief executive officer of the Johnson County Development Corp. has resigned. The organization says Cheryl Morphew, who has led the JCDC for 11 years, has left to pursue other opportunities.
A committee of investors and other stakeholders will begin the search for Morphew’s successor. The organization expects to hire someone for the position by the second quarter of 2017.
"We thank Cheryl for leading and positioning JCDC at the center of our county’s economic development efforts," said board chairman Patrick Sherman. "The Executive Committee and I have much confidence that the transition to a new leader will be successful and allow JCDC to continue its vital role in growing Johnson County."
In September, Morphew led a delegation to Japan to meet with some of the county’s largest employers.
Dana Monson, manager of community development initiatives will oversee the organization’s daily operations until a successor is named. The JCDC recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.
