Middlebury-based Jayco Inc. has announced Derald Bontrager, president and chief executive officer of Jayco, will be stepping back into managing the day-to-day operations of the company. The announcement follows the departure of Matt Thompson from his position as the company’s chief operating officer. 

“This change will afford me the opportunity to be back in a position with more involvement in the everyday details,” Bontrager said in a news release. “My focus will be on dealer relations, quality and customer service.”

Bontrager has been the chief executive officer of Jayco, a subsidiary of Thor Industries, since 2013 and has served as the company’s president since 2002. 

With this change, Jayco’s executive staff will report directly to Bontrager.
