Jasper Holdings acquires Georgia company

Jasper Holdings Inc., the parent of a host of companies in the automotive industry, has acquired a regional plumbing contractor with several branches in the Southeast.
Georgia-based Jenkins Holdings Inc., which does business as Jenkins Plumbing, was founded more than 30 years ago and specializes in installation services for single-family homes. The company has branches in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina.
“Jasper Holdings remains committed to strategic diversification by acquiring best-in-class companies to join our 100% associate-owned ESOP,” Jasper Holdings Inc. President Zach Bawel said of the Indiana company and its employee stock ownership plan. “The addition of Jenkins Plumbing…expands our reach beyond the automotive and trucking aftermarket and strengthens our overall diversification strategy.”
Based in Dubois County, Jasper Holdings is the parent company of Jasper Engines and Transmissions, Weller Truck, Diesel USA Group, D&W Diesel, Jasper Innovative Solutions, Jasper Electric Motors and Jer-Den Plastics. The parent company employed about 4,200 workers across its various units before the Jenkins Plumbing acquisition.
Terms of the deal were undisclosed. Jasper Holdings said it has no immediate plans to add to the size of Jenkins’ 192-employee workforce but does plan to add a new location in Florida later this year.
Britt Jenkins will retain his role as president of Jenkins Plumbing.
“Jenkins is highly respected throughout the Southeast homebuilding industry,” Jasper CEO Doug Bawel said in the news release. “President Britt Jenkins and his leadership team will continue to lead the company as we partner with our loyal customers to support the ongoing growth of the Southeast housing market.”
Jasper Holdings said Jenkins is well-positioned to expand its footprint in Florida and surrounding areas amid a sustained shortage of single-family housing.
