The airport in Rensselaer says the agreement calls for Woolpert to provide planning, environmental assessment, and land acquisition services, among others.
Jasper County Airport is a public general aviation airport with one paved runway and one grass runway serving smaller aircraft. As part of the contract, the airport says it will consider runway realignments and an extension to support regional businesses.
“The goal of the airport master plan is to determine the most viable, cost-effective improvements to increase the volume and versatility of the airport,” Woolpert Senior Aviation Project Manager Curtis Brown said. “Woolpert will evaluate realigning and extending the primary runway to accomplish this mission.”
The airport says Woolpert, which has an office in Indianapolis, is partnering with NGC Corp. in Indy for the project.
“We’re extremely thankful for (NGC Vice President) Ken Ross and the folks at NGC for helping to get us where we are today and are excited to see how far we can go with Woolpert’s guidance,” said Jasper County Airport Manager Ray Seif.
The airport says the contract is now underway.
