JASPER, Ind. – Jasper Gift Basket & Popcorn Company plans to expand its customer base by increasing its web presence through an online store. Jasper Gift Basket & Popcorn Company sells gourmet artisan chocolates and over 90 flavors of gourmet popcorn. With roots and a storefront shop in Jasper, Indiana, the company has netted a loyal following from local
customers. A fraction of its business comes from retail sales at venues like French Lick Resort.
E-commerce offers the three-year old business an opportunity to grow while maintaining control over its product integrity. Focusing growth on online sales allows Jasper Gift Basket & Popcorn Company to expand business without bringing in third-party retail outlets who might neglect to
rotate or pull expired products from their shelves.
Jasper Gift Basket & Popcorn Company partnered with Mediaworks to build and launch its online store in January. Based in Bloomington, Indiana, Mediaworks is boutique marketing firm that offers a variety of marketing, creative, and digital services to clients.
Both Mediaworks and the Jasper Gift Basket & Popcorn Company are women-owned businesses with owners who have ties to the Jasper community. Mediaworks owner Cheryl Budd grew up in Jasper and looks for opportunities to help build the Jasper community.
“It’s amazing to have an opportunity to return home to help strengthen and build the Jasper business community,” comments Budd.
Mediaworks has offered similar technology-based solutions for other Jasper businesses, including Streicher Construction, Dubois County Community Foundation, and WITZ Radio.

Just over three years ago, the owners opened Jasper Gift Basket & Popcorn Company as a way to offset the seasonality of the pool business.
