Keith Hansen, Ph.D., has accepted the position of vice chancellor of student affairs at Ivy Tech Community College – Columbus/Franklin, effective July 1 of this year.
In this capacity, he will be responsible for the areas of admissions and student recruitment, financial aid, student records and registration, career services, judicial affairs, retention and student success, student life, and other non-instructional programs. As the chief student affairs officer of the region, he will also provide leadership in enrollment planning and management, strengthen relationships with collegiate and pre-collegiate educational institutions and community organizations, and establish additional progressive strategies for advancing continuous quality improvement efforts.
Hansen holds a doctorate in higher education administration from Bowling Green State University; a master’s degree in college student personnel from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio; and a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in communication from Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Prior positions held by Hansen include educational specialist for ALIS, Inc. at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; vice president for student life and dean of students at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth; and associate dean of students at Hanover College. In these positions, he has provided analysis and guidance on a variety of educational and student services issues, has presented on both the regional and national levels, and has developed and implemented professional and student staff recruitment and selection.
Hansen replaces Dr. Roger Bingham, who has accepted a position at Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana.
