Ivy Tech Community College has named Dr. Stacy Atkinson as chancellor for the new Hamilton County campus, effective March 1. She currently serves as chancellor of the Richmond campus and Connersville site. Atkinson formerly served as executive director of strategic initiatives with Systems Office before serving as vice chancellor of academic affairs at the Richmond campus.

“Dr. Atkinson brings the skill of an experienced chancellor, as well as an energy, innovative spirit, and leadership to establish the academic and workforce programs which will meet the needs of Hamilton County students, employers, and communities,” said Ivy Tech President Sue Ellspermann. 

Atkinson also served as an Avionics Technician in the United States Marine Corps during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a masters’ degrees from the University of South Carolina and Lesley University.
