Ivy Tech Community College has secured a deal for a new location in Tipton. A lease has been approved by the county commissioners, which will see Ivy Tech move into a previous administrative building for the Tipton Community School Corp. The Kokomo Tribune reports the community college has a two-year agreement and will pay $10 per year. Ivy Tech classes in the community had been held at the local Purdue University Extension office.

Officials say the programs had outgrown the space as more students signed up.

The newspaper reports the deal calls for the county and city to invest $10,000 to the Ivy Tech Foundation.

The community college will have to cover utility costs, but will not be charged rent.
