Ivy Tech Community College Fort Wayne Chancellor Jerrilee Mosier has been recognized with one of the state’s highest honors as she has been named a Sagamore of the Wabash. Indiana State Representatives Martin Carbaugh (R-81), Christopher Judy (R-83), Dan Leonard (R-50) and Bob Morris (R-84) represented Governor Eric Holcomb and recently presented the award to Mosier.

The recognition comes as Mosier prepares for retirement in September after 11 years as chancellor of the Fort Wayne and Warsaw campuses. She’s credited with debuting new degree programs and record certifications awarded in the Fort Wayne and Warsaw areas.

“It has been my honor to serve this campus and this community alongside such phenomenal staff, faculty, legislators, industry leaders, community organizations, and of course, our students. I so appreciate these recognitions, but it is the work of many people who have led to our growth and success. I consider myself fortunate to have been a part of the great work that is higher education in Northeast Indiana,” said Mosier.

Mosier also has been lauded for promoting greater access to education through local community learning locations in Adams, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells and Whitley counties. Ivy Tech says interviews are underway to find her successor.
