A new agriculture center has been dedicated at Ivy Tech Community College in Lafayette. Our partners at WBAA in West Lafayette report a $250,000 grant from Crawfordsville-based Bane-Welker Equipment LLC will help turn part of the existing facility into a hands-on learning lab. It will be called the Bane Agriculture Technology Center. WBAA says the center will replace a building that currently serves as a barn.

When upgrades are complete, students will learn about equipment maintainence and operation.

Currently, 200 students are enrolled in the program.
