The Johnson County Community College’s board of trustees in Overland Park, Kansas has named Andy Bowne president, effective July 1. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President at Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis.  Bowne’s career there began as regional chancellor of the Richmond and East Central service area.

He began his career as a resident director at Calvin College in Grand Rapids. Bowne has over 12 years of adjunct faculty teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  He earned his doctor of education degree from Western Michigan University, where he also earned his master’s and bachelor’s degrees.
