Ivy Tech Chancellor Heading to Connecticut

Subscribe NowThe outgoing chancellor of the Ivy Tech Community College South Bend-Elkhart campus has landed a new job. Thomas Coley has been selected for one of three newly-created regional president positions at Connecticut State Colleges & Universities, which oversees 12 community colleges in the state.
CSCU says the appointments of the regional presidents is part of an initiative to consolidate the community colleges into one singular accredited institution by 2023. The institution will have three regions, one of which will be led by Coley.
In January, Coley announced his retirement with plans to step down from Ivy Tech at the end of May. He will begin his new role later this summer.
"I welcome this tremendous leadership opportunity to join the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities system as president for the Shoreline-West region," Coley said in a CSCU news release. "I was particularly drawn to the region due to each college’s long and strong history of contributing to student access and success in their service areas. I look forward to working with faculty, staff, students and community constituents to help achieve the goals for the college."
Meanwhile, Ivy Tech last week announced the finalists for Coley’s successor on the South Bend-Elkhart campus. The finalists will visit the campus later this week.
