Ivy Tech Central Indiana Chancellor Announces Retirement

Ivy Tech Community College Central Indiana Chancellor Dr. Kathleen Lee has announced she will retire in July. Ivy Tech has launched a national search to find Lee’s successor.

Lee has served as chancellor since 2012 and has been with Ivy Tech since 1985.

“I have been incredibly blessed to have almost my entire career at a community college like Ivy Tech,” Lee said. “I feel fortunate to work with the most dedicated professionals anywhere, serving the communities we care about.”

Lee oversaw the development of the college’s downtown Indianapolis campus, and in February 2011, opened the Julia M. Carson Learning Resource Center to house a library, tutoring services and more. The following year, Ivy Tech Indianapolis held a groundbreaking for its Illinois Fall Creek Center, which now houses classrooms, labs, study rooms as well as retail and a cafe.

Lee recently was instrumental in growing Ivy Tech’s Automotive Technology Program, which began building a new facility in July 2020 in Indianapolis’ International Marketplace District. The new center is expected to open for the fall 2021 semester.

Lee says her last day will be July 16.
