Ivy Tech Community College is joining forces with Evansville-based AmeriQual Foods to help its employees further their education. Our partners at WEHT-TV report the program will allow some AmeriQual employees to take classes to earn a high school equivalency diploma.
According to the company, the program will help employees advance in their career as well as earn higher wages.
“We’ve found there are a lot people who are very close to graduating, and that’s why a program like this is really important because they may be a couple of classes away from finishing and just need to fresh up on math or English,” said Kyla Dowell, workforce alignment consultant at Ivy Tech.
The station reports employees will be paid while they take on-site classes at AmeriQual.
