Chancellor Nasser Paydar says "unrestricted gifts such as this are particularly valuable in that they allow campus leadership to respond quickly to a wide variety of opportunities and needs. I am especially pleased about this gift because the IMCU is such an important and longstanding part of the IUPUI community."
IUPUI says the fund supports "areas of direct need" such as: student success, community partnerships, capitalizing on unexpected opportunities and building the foundation for new initiatives.
IMCU was founded on the IUPUI campus in the mid-1950s. Chief Executive Officer Ron Collier says "as IMCU celebrates our 60th anniversary, we’re looking back at all we’ve accomplished and looking forward to the future, a future in which our relationship with Chancellor Paydar and IUPUI will continue to flourish."
IUPUI says the gift is part of the $2.5 billion campaign called "For All: The Indiana University Bicentennial Campaign," which is set to wrap up in December 2019.
