Subscribe NowThe chancellor of IUPUI says the university is continuing efforts to support businesses by graduating students who want to stay in Indiana. In his State of the Campus address Wednesday, Nasser Paydar said 92 percent of undergraduates choose to remain in-state after graduation.
Paydar tells Inside INdiana Business IUPUI is also focusing on its Welcoming Campus Initiative, which aims to help students feel more welcome on campus, more successful, increase graduation rates and increase business and community engagement.
"I think the reason IUPUI exists is to support businesses, support the state, support students that want to get an education right here at the heart of our state," said Paydar. "So we are very focuses on the needs of industry. We are working with them as we develop these new degree programs to meet their needs and the needs of the state of Indiana."
Paydar says IUPUI aims to produce talent that businesses want and more communication with businesses throughout the state will help accomplish that goal. He says understanding the needs of Indiana businesses will help graduate students who can find jobs in the Hoosier state.
Paydar says the university is looking to increase business and community engagement.
