IUPUI Delegation Heading to Malaysia

IUPUI Chancellor Nasser Paydar is leading a delegation to Malaysia this week. The university says the trip, which runs through Wednesday, will "celebrate existing relationships and explore new collaborations" that align with the country’s goals for higher education.
Paydar first visited Malaysia in the mid-1990s as IUPUI helped in building the academic infrastructure for the launch of Universiti Tenaga Nasional, or UNITEN. As part of the trip, Paydar will meet with UNITEN leaders as well as students who will earn a Purdue University bachelor of science degree at IUPUI.
The delegation will also meet with representatives of other higher education institutions in the country. Paydar will host gatherings with alumni from IUPUI and Indiana University while in Malaysia as well.
The delegation also includes:
- Gil Latz, associate vice chancellor for international affairs and professor of geography at IUPUI;
- David Russomanno, dean of the School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI and professor of electrical and computer engineering
- Tim Diemer, director of international services and clinical assistant professor of organizational leadership at the School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI
- Becky Wood, assistant to the chancellor for communications at IUPUI
