IU President Michael McRobbie is recommending a 1.4 percent increase in tuition and mandatory fees for the Bloomington and Indianapolis campuses over the next two academic years.
IU says the trustees are expected to vote on the proposed tuition increase immediately following the forum.
McRobbie’s recommendation for IU Bloomington and IUPUI is in line with the Indiana Commission for Higher Education’s nonbinding recommendation for the state’s public universities. However, the proposal would increase undergraduate tuition and fees at IU’s regional campuses by 1.9 percent for the 2017-2018 academic year.
The forum will take place from 3:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the University Tower Ballroom on the IUPUI campus. It will also be live streamed on the IU website.
Last week, the Purdue University Board of Trustees Executive Committee approved another two-year tuition freeze for the West Lafayette campus. In early May, Ball State University announced a 1.25 percent tuition increase.
