Rebecca Carl has been named interim vice president for communications and marketing by Indiana University President Michael McRobbie. Carl transitioned to the role following the resignation of Karen Ferguson Fuson.

Carl has led similar departments at other organizations, including Arnett Clinic and Clarian Health. She also served as an associate vice president for government relations and economic engagement. 

Carl will hold the role until a successor is named for McRobbie is able to find a replacement. She will also continue in her role of chief communications officer. Carl holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University and an MBA from Butler University.
