IU South Bend has hired Brenda Phillips as the new dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She previously was associate dean and professor of Sociology at Ohio University, where she worked to prevent domestic violence and drug addiction. Phillips holds a Ph.D. and a master’s degree in Sociology from Ohio State University, and a bachelor’s degree from Bluffton University in Ohio.
