The Indiana University Public Policy Institute has honored Brian Payne with the John L. Krauss Award for Public Policy Innovation. He is president and chief executive officer of the Central Indiana Community Foundation. Payne became CEO and president of CICF in November 2000. Since then, CICF’s annual grant-making has doubled to almost $50 million. He is also the founder and creator of the Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene & Marilyn Glick. Payne currently serves on the boards of Indy Chamber, Indianapolis Downtown, Inc., Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee and Visit Indy.The Krauss Award is given biennially for notable applied research or activity that helps the state of Indiana and/or Indiana communities with "real world" solutions through public policy.
