Indiana University Professor Emerita of Spanish and Portuguese Darlene Sadlier has been elected to the Brazilian Academy of Letters as a socia-correspondente. She is the only U.S. citizen and woman currently holding this lifetime position. Before her retirement, Sadlier spent 36 years serving at IU, 30 of which she worked as the director of the Portuguese program. She recently published a book titled "The Lilly Library from A to Z."
