Indiana University is now accepting request for proposals on its major academic medical research campus in the Evansville area. The timeline calls for final proposals to be turned in at the end of January. The university expects project planning to begin in May. Pending financing, construction could get underway in 2015 and wrap up in 2017. July 2017 is the targeted date for occupancy.

The final project will include several other institutions including Ivy Tech Community College, the University of Southern Indiana and the University of Evansville.

Several potential locations and developers have already emerged including three in Vanderburgh County and one in Warrick County.
