The health system has signed a lease agreement with Clinton County to assume operation of the hospital, beginning June 1.
The Clinton County Board of Commissioners and the Clinton County Council have approved a five-year lease with renewal options. The hospital is currently operated by St. Vincent Health, whose lease will expire on May 31.
"IU Health looks forward to becoming a partner with Clinton County to support its citizens’ health needs, enhance critical care in the community and ensure a smooth transition in operations at Frankfort Hospital," said Al Gatmaitan, executive vice president and chief operating officer of IU Health.
Gatmaitan says, per the lease agreement, IU Health pledges to hire all employees in good standing at their current salaries. Approximately 108 workers are currently employed at the hospital.
Frankfort Hospital adds to IU Health’s presence in the Clinton County area. The health system also operates the IU Health Arnett Medical Office in Frankfort and IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette in nearby Tippecanoe County.
