IU Health Selects Regional President

Indiana University Health has promoted Brian Shockney to president of the health system’s south central region. Shockney, who previously served as chief operating officer, has been interim president since earlier this year.
Shockney has been a part of the IU Health system since 2010 when he was named COO of IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He is also the former president and chief executive officer of Logansport Memorial Hospital in Cass County.
"As we conducted a search for a new regional president, it became evident that Brian had gained the overwhelming confidence and support of his local leadership, physicians and board, all of whom were actively involved in the search process," said IU Health CEO Dennis Murphy. "In addition to overseeing the building of the new hospital, Brian will be responsible for ensuring the region meets its objectives of providing access to high-quality healthcare, and furthering education, research and participation in community health programs."
IU Health is in the midst of construction of the $389 million Regional Academic Health Center, which will include the new IU Health Bloomington Hospital. The health system broke ground on the 735,000-square-foot medical complex in January and work is expected to be complete in 2020.
