Indiana University Health has promoted David Ingram to executive vice president and chief medical executive, effective Jan. 1. He currently serves as president of IU Health Physicians. Ingram joined the hospital as a physician with Riley Children’s Health in 2002 and became chief medical officer of IU Health Physicians in 2016 and its president in 2017. He holds an M.D. from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, a master’s in theology and ethics from Vanderbilt Divinity School and a bachelor’s degree in religious studies from Brown University.

Ingram will succeed Jonathan Gottlieb, who retired in July after six years in the role of chief medical executive.
