Indiana University Grand Challenge Precision Health Initiative has hired Umberto Tachinardi, MD as its chief informatics officer. The initiative is led by Indiana University School of Medicine to transform biomedical research and health care innovations. Tachinardi will also serve as professor of biostatistics and assistant dean for clinical research informatics for IU School of Medicine and as director of research informatics for the Indiana Clinical and Translation Services Institute and Regenstrief Institute. He most recently served as associate dean for biomedical informatics at the School of Medicine and Public Health, University of Wisconsin-Madison and as chief research information officer at UW Health in Madison. Tachinardi holds degrees from Faculdade Medicina de Itajuba and Universidade de Sao Paulo.
